Is it possible to learn Chinese, Japanese, and Korean?
I am currently 16 and a junior in high school. I have taken Japanese for two years online. I intend to take Chinese online next year as well. Would it be possible for me to learn all three languages some time in the future? I have very good linguistic skills and can already speak conversation Japanese (but nowhere near fluent). Just wanted to know if it was possible or not.
Okay it’s good you already studied Japanese for a long time. It’s probably the hardest hurdle.
I’ve studied all three as well and hopefully I can give you some advice.
Korean, grammatically is very similar to Japanese. They have the Subject + Object + verb/Adjective orientation like Japanese. Like Japanese it also has the weird topic/subject markers that hopefully if you figured it out in Japanese you don’t have to waste any time figuring out the difference in Korean. Many grammatical structures are the same such as sino noun plus + the verb “to do”.
the hard part with Korean is the Native and sino number counting.
The good part is, only one writing system, and very little need to learn Kanji.
If you take Chinese, the grammar will be reminiscent of English and Spanish with Subject + verb + object and negation just adding the negative particle in front of the verb. Also, all that Kanji will come in handy for all that Hanzi you will learn. Also the vocabulary should be easier since you will notice the similarities in pronunciation in the Korean/Japanese/Chinese words.
So yes it is possible. Just will take a long time. But you’re young, and if you take everything seriously keep asking questions you’ll get the hang of everything before you get out of college.

I just saw that you said that you learned online. I can’t stress to you how much you need to study in the traditional in class environment. If only for the first 2 semesters so you can adequately get a proper grasp on pronunciation and get comfortable with the writing systems.Try looking into community colleges. It’s cheap, the class times are pretty flexible, and you’ll meet a lot of interesting people.

I wandered into your website and tried to find some wax warmer and somehow your website doesn’t provide a potential customer to search for items.
